A note from Richard Gonçalves: The Creative Mind Behind the Porsche 964 C4 Cab Art Ca, ROCS Tatooine. As an artist and car enthusiast, I have always been fascinated by the intersection of art and automobiles. That's why I created AKAROCS Studio, to work to bring my visions to life and transform, dare I say, "ordinary" vehicles and other functional objects of interest into extraordinary works of art. One of my most exciting projects to date is the Porsche 964 C4 Cab Art Car which I have affectionately named ROCS Tatooine. It is, I feel, a stunning creation that merges my love for Porsche and Star Wars into a single, captivating design. The idea for the ROCS Tatooine art car came to me when I was contemplating how these two cultural icons could come together in a unique and visually striking way. I wanted to imagine what a Porsche would look like if it were a vehicle in the Star Wars universe, specifically on the desert planet of Tatooine. The result is a truly remarkable art car that captures the essence of both Porsche and Star Wars. Every aspect of the design was carefully thought out and executed to pay homage to both cultural icons but in a subtle way.. From the light use of the Aurebesh alphabet inspired graphics to the Millennium Falcon-inspired rear spoiler, I wanted to create a car that would transport viewers into the world of Star Wars while still maintaining the unmistakable Porsche aesthetic. The colors and intricate details bring the design to life, making it a true celebration of both forces. To further celebrate this creative exercise, I teamed up with Bradley Price and Autodromo to restyle a timepiece that complements ROCS Tatooine. The watch, is ofcourse, Autodromo's recent offering, the group C, is a wearable representation of the artistic vision behind the car. It serves as a reminder that art and automobiles can coexist and inspire in unexpected ways. This project goes beyond the realm of automotive art; it is a celebration of the cultural significance of both Porsche and Star Wars. Both are symbols of innovation, craftsmanship, and a relentless pursuit of excellence. By merging these two forces, I aimed to create a unique cultural statement that resonates with enthusiasts from both worlds. The ROCS Porsche Tatooine and its accompanying timepiece are not just objects of admiration; they are conversation starters. They invite viewers and enthusiasts to explore the possibilities of merging different elements to create something extraordinary. It encourages us to think outside the box and challenge the boundaries of traditional art and design. As a ROCS car aimed at the Lunar-like road surfaces of the NYC Metro area it needed to be functional yet very comfortable so we set out to ensure a stable and compliant driving experience with a custom tuned off road suspension. The result is a versatile multi-use all wheel drive 911 that can not only take you just about anywhere but can do so while also towing a snowmobile, jet ski, camper, tire trailer, etc. I am incredibly proud of the ROCS Porsche Tatooine Art Car and to be able to celebrate it with Autodromo.
